re:Some examples to sup...
Some examples to supplement oy's examples to teach language in natural environment.
1. at home, every time you take him to bathroom to pee or wash hands, tell him "we are going to bathroom", once you are there, tell him "we are in the bathroom"
do the same for kitchen, family room and bedroom.
2. play all kinds of actions with him, e.g. jumping, walking, spinning, pushing, and lable them while doing it. Kids with sensory issues (all autism kids do) love them.
3. give him wrong shoes or t-shirt, and then tell him who the clothing item belong. so that you teach him possessive forms. (mummy's daddy's .....) this is skill of typicl two year olds. we need to fill in these gaps for them.
4. when giving him water, do not open it, and ask him to request it before you give him. this is manding of VB.
5. when putting him in bath, do not turn on water, let him request. another manding of VB.
You mntioned you are interested in VB. From what you have done for him, It looks like you can be a great VB therapist for your son. Try to contive situations where he has to request to get what he wants, this is the essence of VB.
Hope it helps.
