------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Token System:
Try using a token system board to extend out reinforcement and differentially reinforce. Start with 6 tokens pairing each with a tangible reinforcer. When gets all 6 give him a larger reinforcers. ---- you would use it with table and appropriate play. You will need to constantly assess preferences to make sure he is really motivated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Timer:
You may want to use a timer to extend out his time with materials/toys. ---he is moving very quickly through them and a timer may extend it out enough so he gets into the habit of staying on task for longer. Get a baseline across a variety of toys and activities and average out the amount of time. That will be your starting point with the timer. You will gradually increase based on set criteria.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Manding:
Wen's receptive and expressive labels are fairly strong. but he is needing more of an ability to request. Language needs to be more functional at this point in his development. He should be expected to ask for everything he wants -- items, activities, actions, people, ect... Always try a least to most prompt hierarchy --- try not to give any prompts until you realized he isn't going to verbally request. Do not give an item without a request( make sure it is reinforcing if you are expecting a request). try not to prompt with " What do you want?" if possible.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Echoics:
Start by assessing the sounds and blends he is struggling with and start a program that has automatic reinforcement for correct responsed and expected approximations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schedule strip & Choice board:
Pick one place in the house to keep the schedule. it works best if it can be velcroed or affixed to one specific spot. Eventally we want to be able to say "check your schedule" and wen will be able to walk over and manipulate the schedule by himself.
Right now ,put major transitions on Wen's schedule that are definitely going to happen like get dressed, eat breakfast, go to the store ect. Put 3 or 4 icons on the schedule and add as the day goes on. He is best to follow through with everything on the schedule. Placing too many icons on at once makes it more likely that there will need to be changes and inconsistancys in his day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Following Directions
Tell him to do things he is already goint to do to get him used to following directions. Only tell him to do things one time and prompt him to comply. He needs to listen the first time he is told.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eating:
For now keep a food diary for what he eats during the day. write down what he is offered for food what time and how much he eats.
