I'm A Little Airplane
Sung to: "I'm a Little Teapot"
I'm a little airplane, (children raise arms at sides to shoulder height.)
Now watch me fly! (They spin one of their arms in front of them as if it were a propeller)
Here are my instruments
From down low to up high. (With their other arm, they reach from the ground to above their heads.)
First I get revved up. (Children make engine-like noises while still spinning their arms.)
Then I can fly, (Children raise arms to shoulder height.)
Lifting off the runway (They start walking forward.)
Up into the sky! (They go up on their tiptoes and continue to move forward. Let them circle a while before returning to their original positions.)
(To the tune of Old MacDonald) Pete the Pilot has a plane. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. And on that plane there are some wings. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. With a zoom, zoom, here......Other verses: Dan the driver has car, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, (car has a horn)...The engineer has a train, chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, (has a smokestack) etc. etc.
(to the tune : Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light
Standing on the Corner Bright
Green means GO, we all know
Yellow means WAIT, even if you're late
Red means STOP......
Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light,
Standing on the Corner bright
Little Airplane
(Tune: are you sleeping)
Little airplane, little airplane,
In the sky, in the sky,
I can see you soaring,
I can see you soaring,
Up so high,
Up so high.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Start Daddy had a motor car..
Twinkle Twinkle Little Start
Daddy had a motor car push the button, pull the choke
off we go in a puff of smoke,
zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom
zoom, zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom.
To the Tune of Wheels on the Bus
The train on the track goes chug, chug, chug, Chug, chug, chug, Chug, chug, chug, The train on the track goes chug, chug, chug all through the day
Other verses:
The boat on the water goes toot
The car on the road goes beep
The race car on the track goes zoom
The airplane in the sky goes way up high
Here's a fun rhyme: Good for work on direction and sound contrasts.
This is a choo-choo train
(bend arm at elbow)
Puffing down the track.
(rotate arms in rhythm)
Now it's going forward,
Now it's going back.
(push arms in appropriate directions; continue rotating motion) Now the bell is ringing, (pull bell cord) Now the whistle blows (make sound) What a lot of noise it makes Everywhere it goes!
(cover ears)
Fingerplay--The Trip
Wash the car,
Make it shiny and bright.
Oh, what a sight!
Fill up the car,
With lots of gas.
Then we will go far.
