刚看见老师给我写的信，关于今天Ean在学校的表现，Initiation的那一段然我体会到什么是开心啊。
Here's how Ean's day went today:

1. responding to group activites: He is starting to be able to sit for a longer period of time in circle time now.   

2.responding to question and redirection:  He did seem to be staring into space a little more than usual today, so he needed more prompts than usual when asked a question or given a direction.  He is imitating language on a pretty consistent basis now, and after he has heard it several times is using the language spontaneously during the morning.

3.initiation:  He is doing better with initiation every day now! He is starting to initiate play with the other students now!  During gym he initiated for other students to ride on the two person bike with him.  He stopped by them, pointed for the student to get on, said, "ride bike", and when the other child got on he helped them get on all the ways by helping to make sure their feet were all the ways on the bike.  He is not always looking at the other person whjether it is staff or peers, but he is coming up to them and using his language to facilitate this, and using his actions to show or help them to play with him.   Another student asked for help with a puzzle today as well, and right away he went over there and started helping peice the puzzle together.

4.potty: He asked to go to the bathroom once today by saying, "bathroom", he went twice this morning. When in the bathroom is using more language identifying what he needs and what he is doing! 5.what's difficult today?  No difficulties today!! He had a great day!! Ean has been doing wonderful in the classroom and we enjoy having him here!

Ean 真的好棒！我们家小火炉比他还大一个月呢，可是语言能力不如Ean, 社交也不如，可能是我们训练还不够火候儿吧。

也很羡慕你们有学区的帮助，真好！

JJmom：其实美国的老师都是报喜不报忧的。都说的亮点，大多数时候没那么好。

我们咨询了Financial Advisor，他给我们列下TODOs 来保证孩子在意外发生的情况下有所保障。贴出来给大家参考。较适合北美的人家，欢迎在这方面已经有做出努力的妈妈来提宝贵意见。比如KvenMa。

Risk Management:

1.        Dad should acquire a $375,000, 20 year term insurance policy.
2.        Mom also should acquire $375,000, 20 year term insurance policy.
3.        Mom and Dad should see an independent insurance broker to review their home owners and auto insurance policies for cost and suitability and review the need for a liability policy to protect their financial futures.
4.        Dad and Mom need to acquire Beneficiary change forms for their employer term insurance policies. (see Pillar 3 below)

Mom and Dad need a minimum of $1,250,000 in life insurance to protect the future of their 2 children. Employer paid term insurance should not be relied upon for this purpose. Dad should also review any portability options from his employer policies in case he leaves current employer.


Pillar 3, Legal and family planning:

1. Discover and confirm who would be suitable guardians for children.
(这里说的是如有夫妻都意外离世，孩子要有养育的人。)
2. Discover and confirm a suitable trustee (Individual or Institutional)for Ian’s Supplemental Needs Trust.  
3. Mom and Dad should stop by their local health care provider and pick up Health Care Directives to execute.
4. Contact attorney or your trusted attorney who specializes in disability law and trusts to begin wills/trusts process.

Pillar 4, Cash management and accumulation:
       
1. Retain your emergency savings fund of $16,000 which represents approximately 3 months of net income.
2. Use a budgeting spreadsheet for two months to track all expenses if there are any budgeting concerns or spending that is hindering your financial goals.
       
Pillar 5, Wealth distribution:

1.        Make certain that Mom and Dad’s extended family are aware of the needs to not directly gift funds to Ian which could disqualify him from benefits and reference his trusts instead.
2.        Make certain that Ian will not directly inherit any funds by reviewing any beneficiary designation forms for Mom and Dad as well as their extended family:
                                               
3.        Begin writing a Master Document for Child to organize and give shape to his entire financial plan and review annually.

The main problem for me is to find someone that can help manage the money if we left. (they have a pecial english name for this person) Do not have relatives in USA. so still have not had a will done. if you have such a person, definitely have a will done.just my husband's company has life insurance for him, not me.

写Will 和买人寿保险都比较简单，建Living trust是件很复杂的事，需要律师，价钱也不低。

一个原则，就是共同财产，比如银行账户，其他投资账户，房子，车，都用夫妻共同的名字来建。
所有财产，进Living trust，保障孩子。  一些 mortgage 不同意未付清的房产进 trust， 要仔细问清。

will 中有执行人，可以是这边比较负责的朋友，和养护人不是一个，养护人可以是国内的亲属，执行人最好是这边的朋友。
家里财产的任何变动，都会影响到will 和 Living trust， 所以需要随时修改。

Will 和 Living trust 如果做的不好，在任何一方去世，需要过 probation court 的时候，被 court 抓住问题，那就是旷日持久的和政府打交道的过程，任何人都不会喜欢的。  所以找律师做 will 和 Living trust 还是很需要的。

我觉得最难找的是抚养人（guardian)，尤其是我们的特殊孩子。你说抚养人可以在国内，怎么说？是把孩子送回国吗？

我也和有关专业人士谈过，因为没有理想的抚养人，还没有动手，不过人寿保险是一直都有的。宝贝贝，公司的保险太少（一般只是２倍工资而已），而且万一离开公司就没有了，所以一定要自己买。趁现在还不算太老，赶快买，要不越来越贵。

也许中文是执行人。英文名忘了。这个人很重要。孩子未成年前，钱如何管理就靠他了。
看到一个中国人为朋友当执行人，孩子小。把钱交给了一个炒股公司。结果赔的一踏糊涂。他为此痛苦不已，觉得对不起自己的朋友。后悔不如只让钱在银行存定期了。这是听来的故事了。
养护人没资格支配钱的

我们的ＴＲＵＳＴ和ＷＩＬＬ去年就办好了。基本上就是燕原说的。补充一点，执行人一般是两个，一个最好是认识的值得依靠的人，另外一方面是ＴＲＵＳＴ委托人，可以是银行。这样如果第一个人乱来，他也不能，因为支取一笔钱要双方同意。

无论执行人还是养护人，责任都很大，不过是可以随时改的。  

我觉得还是不要因为总找不到合适的人选，就不去做。  先做了，有个保障，然后再改也好。 随着孩子年龄增大，也不能保证现在的人选以后就合适了。

我老公出事后，周围所有朋友都做了 will，中国人的这方面的意识的确弱一点，我们什么都没做过，孩子又小，上 court 手续特别麻烦，美国人保护孩子的意识太强，就是亲妈都受限制。 （另一个朋友的事情： 没有 will，孩子有人寿保险的钱，结果钱是 court 负责管理到孩子长大，亲妈想做任何事情，都要先打报告。）

特殊孩子，好像还更麻烦一些，不是所有人都有资格做养护人的，不知道对不对，是不是需要特殊的律师呢。

我们use特殊的律师,就是要专门办特殊孩子的ＴＲＵＳＴ的律师，他懂那方面special needs的法律。

另外人寿保险还是要多一些，两个孩子的家庭还得更多。即使你认为留给孩子总体有Ｘ万，但是还有联邦税，州税，弄下来少了１／３或者１／４吧？我有点记不清了。
