Remember to be at least as nice to your family as you are to your friends.

请记住你对待你的家庭成员,至少要象你对待你的朋友们一样好才对.


1月2日

When talking on the phone, the other person will have trouble hearing you if you whisper. It is usually best to use a normal speaking voice when talking on the phone.

在打电话时,如果你在电话的这一头小声地说话,对方在电话的那头可能很难听清楚你在说什么,一般最好就是用你平常说话的声音来打电话.

It may not bother you to have something hanging out of your nose, and wiping your nose may seem useless because your nose will just run again, But other people do not want to look at what is hanging out of your nose, so go ahead and wipe it with a tissue.

你对自己流鼻涕可能不在乎,把鼻子擦干净了好象也没用,,因为鼻涕还会继续流下来但是别人却不想看着你的鼻涕挂在那里,所以你最好是用纸巾把鼻涕擦干净了吧.

The calendar on your teacher’s desk or in someone’s home is not yours to write on or tear out pages from. If your school doesn’t provide you with a calendar, ask your parents to get you one, so that you can keep track of important dates.

你老师桌上或者别人家里的日历,不是你自己的东西,你是不能拿来写东西或是撕下来的,如果你自己的学校没给你提供日历的话,你可以要求家长给你买一本,这样你就可以记下重要的日子和事情来了.

When talking with someone about the exercise program you just started,it is unnecessary to mention the specific places you sweat and how it smells.

当你和别人谈起你刚开始的健身运动时,你不用详细地描述你身体那些部位是出大汗了,气味又怎样.

Do not act out movie scenes with others without their permission. Some people may not have seen a certain movie and won't understand or may even feel threatened by you.

要是没有经过对方的同意,不要和他们玩电影中的某个情节,有的人可能没看过这本电影就不会知道这个情节,他们甚至会误会你威胁到了他们.

If your teacher tells you not to use certain words or phrases,like "shut up",that means it is not acceptable to say those words or phrases in class, even if you whisper them.

如果你的老师告诉你不能说某些话和句子的话,比如说"住嘴!",那就是说你不能在班级里说这些,即使是你自己轻轻地说也不行.

it is a good idea to pack a breath mint with your lunch if you like to eat strong-smelling foods and don't have an opportunity to brush your teeth after eating.

如果你吃的午餐有气味的话,而且你也不大有机会中饭后刷牙,那就最好带块口香糖嚼嚼.

1月10-11日

Before you use any kind of "wipes" on your face,hands,or body,read the label to make sure that's what they're made for. Some wipes are for cleaning bathroom sinks or mirrors and could hurt you if you use them on your skin or near your eyes.

在你用任何的"纸巾"擦脸擦手擦身体时,最好先读一下牌子及说明,看看那是用来擦什么的,有些"纸巾"是用来擦厕所的,有的是擦镜子的,如果用在你的皮肤上或是接近眼睛的地方,会弄痛你的.

做客时，主人夹了菜给你，如果你不喜欢吃你可以说：“不用给我夹，让我自己来吧。”千万不要用手去推去挡。如果主人一定要夹给你，你可以把菜放在旁边的碟子里。你一直不吃，主人就知道你是不喜欢的，他就不会再夹给你了。

Some movie quotes are very funny while you are watching the movie,but the same quotes may be inappropriate to repeat in school and to people who have not seen the movie.

有些电影中的对白很有趣,但是有些对白可能就不大合适在学校里说,或者不适合对那些没看过这本电影的人说.

The fire alarm in your school is for emergencies only.If you pull the fire alarm and there is no emergency,you will get in serious trouble.Talk to your teacher about what constitutes an emergency in your school.

你学校里的火警警报是为了紧急状态用的,你要是拉了火警警报又没有真的紧急情况的话,那你就遇到大麻烦了.你最好和老师谈谈什么才算是"紧急情况".

打电话的时候，先告诉别人你是谁，再找你要找的那个人来听电话。这样别人明白要跟谁说话，你也能找到真正想要说话的人。不要拿起电话就说事情，也许接电话的并不是你要找的那个人，或者对方因为听不出你是谁而感觉莫名奇妙。

打电话的时候，让尊长者先挂电话，这是一种礼貌。如果你想挂电话就挂电话，会让人认为无礼。
