感觉统合有用吗

最近看到有的家长问到感统是否有效。另外感统会不会给孩子带来副作用。 就这一问题,我求教了一位这个OT专业的研究生(Ganesh B.)。 感统是OT(职业治疗occupational therapy)的一个研究领域。我的问题: "Sensory integration therapy is really useless. To some extent, it may even  harm your child".

Ganesh的回答
"Sensory Integration therapy is the science of observing the brain-behavior relationship and understanding how each component supports the other. This therapy delves past the 5 identifiable human senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) to explore the vestibular and proprioceptive senses and understand how these latent processing centers impact the 5 major senses and combine to influence behavior. Sensory Integration therapy is used to explain why individuals behave in particular ways, plan intervention to diminish particular difficulties and predict how behavior will change as a result of therapeutic intervention. There is a common and grave misconception of the general populous to write off this effective form of therapy as nontraditional, lacking medical breadth and ineffective. However, as many great ideas in science and medicine are immediately refuted at first and then accepted later on, Sensory Integration therapy is among them. It is being studied and research extensively at numerous academic and clinical institutions in the US and world. Much like medicine or anything for that matter, too much of one thing is good for nothing. Thus the notion that it is harmful to children is erroneous because any therapy that causes harm undermines our healthcare system, morals and ethics. Sensory Integration therapy in consultation with caregivers, a competent and knowledgeable therapist provides a new and unique perspective to understand behavior and plan interventions to safely and definitively ameliorate unwanted behaviors."

感统:一门科学--脑与行为之间的相互作用的关系。
内容:5大方面--视,听,嗅,味,触觉,它们对行为的影响。
目的:解释个体行为,制定干预计划,消除行为障碍。
误解:无效,缺乏医学上的广泛支持
开导:科学思想被接受前的必经之路,正在探索研究中。
过度:同医药一样,多了滥了总是不好的,就有害。
安慰:在专业监督指导下,合理计划并实施,就能减少伤害保证安全。

感统是有用的,而且某些活动应该放在个训课里来上。精细课也是感统的一部分。按摩也是感统的一部分。某个程度的绘画、弹琴、打球等,也是感统的一部分。
