Brief introduction :
Wu qiu shi, born in August 1987, contracted a kind of incurable disease, medically named Autism. He was identified as “four degrees of amentia” by the medial specialists from Sichuan Provincial Medical Institution .
As a person with such disease, his typical symptoms are as following: having no interest in anything around him, but indulging himself in this own world ,refusing communication with other people, disregarding cooperation ,behaving obstinately and unchangeably ,body functional imbalance ,language ability handicapped ,hence weak wisdom with low IQ .It is claimed that a person with such disease will not be cured even by modern medicine ,and will be mental handicapped permanently and need daily care from others for whole life time , and eventually will not be accepted by the society .
Because of the disease ,he could not get normal education, if any, in the way as most children have. But fortunately he was found merely by chance having a great talent of music with special feelings and miraculous sensitivity for music .After four years of agonizingly training ,teaching by his teachers and his parents with extreme patience and painstaking ,he passed the National Piano Amateur Examination ,getting the nine grade certification .He was enrolled by Sichuan Art School as a special student five years ago ,taking piano as his major .
For such person as he is with autism ,it seems nothing is possible. But with might given the God , he actually made great achievements in terms of piano playing in past years. Even though by now he still could not read music notes so fluently without help from others, he could play numerous pieces, various styles of Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and other great masters ,with his own explanation of music ,many of which ,technically speaking ,are extremely difficult even for a normal people .He has got it ,hence setting a really good example for the millions of his like , proclaiming everything is possible ,If with appropriate ways, cares from people around him , endless love from the bottom of heart, his and his like will enjoy the life and happiness the God give to all of us .
In January 2004,recommended by his school as a normal child ,he took part in the *Zhujiang Piano Playing Competition ,in the First National Children Arts Festival held in Beijing ,he won the silver medal .and again in February 2005,he won the gold medal for handicapped in the International(China, Japan, Korea ) Children Art Show Competition ( Beijing ) .and in August 2005, as a member of Chinese Children Art Mission , he participated in the exchange competition held in Seoul , Korea, and won both the gold medal of piano playing and the Great Peace medal .
